Public Policy 

The following two works pertain to the public policy process:

The first refers to the Digital Equity Act of 2021 which requires the National Telecommunications & Information Administration (NTIA) to launch grant programs to promote digital equity & expand broadband connectivity for citizens across the United States (Digital Equity Act Programs Overview, n.d.). The NTIA is an executive branch agency that advises the U.S. President on telecommunications & information strategies (NTIA, n.d.). These grant programs provide significant funding to states & jurisdictions to develop plans for infrastructure & service provisions aligned with emerging technologies & connectivity.

The second work refers to Harm Reduction (HR) policies & programs which have significant economic effects on patient safety & public health. Evidence shows HR strategies like needle exchanges & medication-assisted treatment are cost-effective & transformative in addressing the opioid crisis & related challenges.
